AFTERGLOW Cover Reveal!

And the cover for AFTERGLOW (Wildefire #3) is....

And if you want to see the progression between the covers of the three books...

All three of these covers are thanks to the ever-brilliant Laurent Linn at Simon & Schuster. In case you're wondering, all of those flowers are real (photographed by Ashton Worthington); for AFTERGLOW, Laurent actually had fresh plumeria flown in from Hawaii.

What I love most about Laurent's work is that, rather than just settling for a cover that looked "cool," he went the extra mile to actually tell a story as you progress from panel to panel. Each flower also parallels Ashline's journey in that particular novel:

The lone black calla igniting in a field of ordinary lilies, just as Ashline experiences her own awakening as a goddess amongst mortals in WILDEFIRE.
One orchid struggles not to succumb to the primordial, earth-rending chaos around it, just as the scheming of a villainous trickster tears Ashline's world apart in EMBERS & ECHOES.
And finally the plumeria, still burning bright against the smoldering remains around it, just as...well, I guess you'll have to wait to read AFTERGLOW to get this connection.

Finally, I'll leave you with the tagline we've chosen for the inside cover of AFTERGLOW, along with the previous two, so you can see the progression from book to book.

WILDEFIRE: Every flame begins with a spark.
EMBERS & ECHOES: Every flame casts a shadow.
AFTERGLOW: Every flame can be extinguished.

AFTERGLOW hits bookstores November 12, 2013 (11/12/13), but you can catch up on the rest of Ashline's journey from mortal to reincarnated volcano goddess with WILDEFIRE and EMBERS & ECHOES.

  1. Gorgeous cover! Frangipanis are my favourite flowers, so I especially like it. And I love how all the covers in the series go together. Lately, covers in a series seem to get a new look after the first and more often than not, the original is the best. Congrats on not just one, but 3 gifts from the cover gods :-)

  5. I am now SO GLAD I didn't read Embers and Echoes yet! November 2013? Crazy, man.
I absolutely love the 3 covers together! (I just tried writing a blog post on it, but Blogger is acting cranky, so I hope to get around to it in the next few days :( )

  6. I was about to wax poetic about these covers. Then I decided to just say that they are totally sexy together. Then I read the tagline for AFTERGLOW and my heart stopped.

    I am now dead.

  9. I love your books, dude! <3 They kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Keep up the good work! I can't wait to read Afterglow next year. <3 Usually books, don't get me fired up like this until the middle, but I was entertained the entire time, and the length of the books? PERFECT. Best of luck!

  10. Best cover yet. Don't get me wrong: Wildefire caught my eye the second I saw it, and I couldn't get it out of my head till I broke down and bought it. But the Embers and Echoes flower looks diseased, like a tropical zombie. Afterglow, on the other hand, looks like it has a coffee bean background. *win*

  11. I know this has nothing to do with the books and to be honest I have not red them yet (I will soon)... well that's mostly because I just heard about them today. Anywho I wanted to thank you. See untill today I wanted to give up in my writting, but as I was looking for book trailers (yes I know I'm a book worm) I found a video of you talking about your writting and it opened my eyes that if I gave writing up I would also give up a part of my self and before I knew it I waswritting and well I felt whole. I may not be a published writer and am only writing in notebooks and wattpad but I plan on publishing even if I don't become famose like. I just want people to see what goes in my head (well, the interesting parts) once again thank you. You have become my insperation!

  13. you know i just realized how symbolic their names are. Eve- what comes before, the beginning "the spark". Rose- the living creation, the life, "the fuse" in between. Ash - the end, the result, all that's left, "the flame"

  14. I love the covers. They lie when people say that they don’t judge a book by its cover. These covers are awesome and would make potential readers pick up the book to figure out what it is about.
