My First Official Author Video. Oh. My.

It's just as off-topic as my vlogs. Only with better post-production.

We filmed this in February when I visited the Simon & Schuster offices. Thanks to the kick-ass team at Studio 4 for humoring me, even though I'm sure they thought I was a complete weirdo.

  1. This happens to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen you do. Good job, bro!

Oh, and if you *really* audition for the Jersey Shore, I can no longer be a Karsten Knight fan. It's in my "Decent Italians of America" contract. It's also in my "I Have a Brain" contract.

  2. I'm reading Wildfire on S&S Galley Grab right now, and I'm loving it. I can definitely see your hilarious personality in this video shining through in your book.

I also suffer from Pale Person Syndrome. I deflect light, and blend in perfectly with printer paper. Those are as good as superhero powers, and you should use them to your advantage.

If you audition for Jersey Shore, I propose that your cast name be something along the lines of Vanilla Thrilla. Just so you know, I'll still be a Karsten Knight fan if you make it on to show. I might actually become a Jersey Shore fan too, if you do. Just sayin. ^^

  4. LOL... that last bit cracked me up.

    Vanilla Thrilla, Penny?!?! Perfect!

PS also reading Wildefire on Galley Grab right now, really liking it. Don't worry, I'll buy a finished copy, too. Vanilla Thrilla's gotta eat.

  8. Love the author vid. Congratulations! The team at S&S was awesome to film this - the funniest I've ever seen from a publisher.

Also, still loving your post tags.

  9. Haha, I can only imagine the looks you were getting while they recorded this! S&S did a great job with the little coherent rambling you gave them (just playing with you, I love it!). Your paleness really comes in handy though. It's a good trait to have when all those lighthouses go out. Ships must love you.

  11. Your videos always manage to make me laugh, even if they are official, "professional," author videos ;).

  12. I think my favorite line was either the part about your favorite character or the fact that you considered using this video to audition for the Jersey Shore.

  13. That was frawesome. I will be using that quote about wood floors and dining tables in the future. And I've got to get my hands on this book! I've heard great things about it and the concept is just rad.
