Based purely on this video, I am both scarred for life, following your blog (and no doubt twitter as soon as I log in *sigh), looking forward to your book, AND I have Thriller stuck in my head.
Ironically enough, I watched this while sitting in the cafe at the School of American Ballet at Lincoln Center, surrounded by ballet dancers--who probably wondered why the lady with the laptop and earphones was laughing ridiculously loudly. You rock, Karsten!
Awesome! I noticed that most of the folks leaving comments are women. You are missing your core audience. Unless maybe all the guys are too busy practicing their new moves.
Well, there are times in life I know that looking at a thing will end badly, end in something I cannot un-see. But we look anyway. (gaper factor) I was prepared for this to be one of those moments.
Alas, you went all professional on us. You even used your 'radio voice'. (well done)
I think there must be an outtake reel...I wanna see that version.
I loved this so much I showed it to my son. Our favorite move was the "roar kitty cat, roar" move. I'm sure my son will be incorporating that into his own happy dances from now on :)
::can't stop giggling:: Karsten that was simply fabulous. No seriously, you are such a great sport to be doing that! ::watches some more, falls over laughing:: Though now I have that blasted song in my head...so worth it...
Out of morbid curiosity, is anyone in RL thinking you're a nut?
FABOOSH! My husband must watch this so that he can learn real man moves. I especially like the Roar, Kitty, Roar part. My question for you is this... was it worth it???
1. Thanks for taking my advice. Jazz hands make everything better. 2. Thank you for not taking my advice. Because it turns out leotards on men are not sexy. I gave Little Jonas' Single Ladies video a second look. My eyes are burning. 3. Will you please do an instructional dance video for women? I'm going dancing this weekend, see. And I'm a little concerned I might get it wrong. Please do it by Friday. That will give me at least a day to practice my moves. And please take into consideration that I will be on a bull. That might affect things. Many thanks in advance. You do your video, and I will reward you by making a video of my bull dancing. Just so you can see how good of a teacher you are.
Smile still plastered all over my face. That was hilarious, and you have no fear. The chicken-wing two-step and Thriller slide are epic. Followed Carolina's link and am so glad I did, I'm gonna follow you.
I popped over from Carol's blog and am now a follower, too! Thanks for that video, I'm still smiling. Maybe you can give my husband lessons? Just kidding, honey! :)
Carol has linked this site to her blog. Excuse me while I put my eye back in. Well, that's better now. Although I do still have a stitch in my side that is painful. You can count me as follower 127. I can't wait to see what you do next. If you write as well as you dance, this is going to be an interesting experience. Not good, but interesting. As for clubbing it, my recommendation is that you not dance. Buy a girl a drink and talk. If you can write, you gotta be able to talk;-) Slow dance only. Definitely don't show her the kitty roar move.
This is a perfect example of a vlog done right. Bravo on making me laugh! I only wish I could dance as well as you can. And may I say congratulations on getting your book published!
The rest of your blog is super-awesome fabulous too! I'll definitely be back for more. ;]
Bahahahahaha. SO. AWESOME.
ReplyDeleteOMG LOL - so funny! You could totally be in the Thriller video with some of those moves, well a re-make anyway ;o)
ReplyDeleteYou are truly brave, sir. And I'm glad.
Now that I've seen you dance, my life is complete!
ReplyDeleteThe caffeinated man. Hah!! That was great. You are a true sport.
ReplyDeleteHehehehe! No you did not do a little circle during your single ladies dance.
ReplyDeleteThe Thriller Kitten Roar and the Martini, Shaken not Stirred...LMAO
I can wait to post this to my peeps tomorrow.
Bwahahahahaha!!! I love it!=)

ReplyDeleteI HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY.
Too funny!
ReplyDeleteI was prepared to cringe. But that was pretty funny. Good stuff.
ReplyDeleteAll I have to say is...
ReplyDelete"No body puts Baby in the corner."
Black tank. I'm a B.A. attitude. I die.
LOOOOOOOOOOOOL
ReplyDeleteSo worth the update!
There are no words, Karsten. I am humbled by your dancing genius.
ReplyDeleteLMAO!!!!!!!!!! Brilliant! That's all I have to say!
ReplyDeleteRoll on 200 followers, can't wait to see what you come up with next :o)
Oh my gosh, I so needed that fit of laughter. Thank you! My fav is the Kitty Cat Roar. Awesome Karsten.
ReplyDeleteOhmigod, that was awesome and hilarious. You got some moves, man!
ReplyDeleteIronically enough, I watched this while sitting in the cafe at the School of American Ballet at Lincoln Center, surrounded by ballet dancers--who probably wondered why the lady with the laptop and earphones was laughing ridiculously loudly. You rock, Karsten!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I noticed that most of the folks leaving comments are women. You are missing your core audience. Unless maybe all the guys are too busy practicing their new moves.
ReplyDeleteKarsten's milkshake brings all the girls to the yard.
ReplyDeleteScott, is that a proposal for the 200 Followers Contest?
ReplyDeleteSo much better than I could have imagined--vlog babies, Baby! Vlog babies!
ReplyDeleteKarsten - I'm emotionally scarred after watching this. I don't think I could handle you covering Kelis.
ReplyDeleteThe therapy bills alone!
Hee! That was hilariously well done!
ReplyDeleteThe Thriller moves were my favorite.
Hmmmm for the 200 maybe you can belly dance? Breakdance? Poledance? ;)
Well, there are times in life I know that looking at a thing will end badly, end in something I cannot un-see. But we look anyway. (gaper factor)
ReplyDeleteI was prepared for this to be one of those moments.
Alas, you went all professional on us. You even used your 'radio voice'. (well done)
I think there must be an outtake reel...I wanna see that version.
Lola, re: a blooper reel, I definitely fell over a chair doing the Thriller shimmy, slide & clap.
ReplyDeleteKK, you OWN the saddle-up. in fact, you own the whole "Country" segment. you are a worthy follow. Hi. Larious. Made my otherwise rather serious day.
ReplyDeleteWhoa. I am...uh...speechless for once in my life.
ReplyDeleteThat was so epic, people will be referring to it as you're introduced as a panelist at a writers conference ten years from now.
Pure awesome.
OMG! I laughed so hard I was crying! Motor booty! Kitty roar! *YAAAAAAAAY*
ReplyDeleteahahahahahaha... Karsten, you freaking rock!
ReplyDeleteAnd as someone who danced practically her whole life, I'm very very impressed =)
That is seriously too funny! So when is round 2?
ReplyDeleteI loved this so much I showed it to my son. Our favorite move was the "roar kitty cat, roar" move. I'm sure my son will be incorporating that into his own happy dances from now on :)
ReplyDeleteSOOOOO disappointed there was no KNOTB or Kenny Loggins. What era did you grow up in?
ReplyDeleteAwesome job with attracting the followers!
::can't stop giggling:: Karsten that was simply fabulous. No seriously, you are such a great sport to be doing that! ::watches some more, falls over laughing:: Though now I have that blasted song in my head...so worth it...
ReplyDeleteOut of morbid curiosity, is anyone in RL thinking you're a nut?
this surely won't look good in your writer's biography one day :)
ReplyDeleteYou are my hero. I haven't laughed so much in a long time. :D
ReplyDeleteI am SO glad I followed your blog! This is pure genius!
ReplyDeleteNow I know who broke the Twitter. ROFL
ReplyDeleteWow...I thought you were full of it. I sit corrected. That was funny and you look gooood.
ReplyDeletewhat'll you do for 200 followers? Hmmmm?
I am now your 120th follower. THAT was fantastic!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Your website is awesome! I love looking at a good website.
ReplyDeleteFABOOSH! My husband must watch this so that he can learn real man moves. I especially like the Roar, Kitty, Roar part.
ReplyDeleteMy question for you is this...
was it worth it???
This is pure genius.
ReplyDeleteTonight my son spontaneously did "jazz hands", while quoting your "real men do jazz hands" line. You might start a trend at the local high school :)
ReplyDeleteWow, I go away for one day, and look at all the nice comments! Thanks everyone :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd Suzi, if I can popularize jazz hands as a form of manly high school greeting, then I will consider my life's opus complete.
Oh goodness! I'm a fan of "The Kitty Cat." You really got into that move! Ba ha ha!
ReplyDeleteSo, okay,
ReplyDelete1.
Yes. You may consider that a challenge. Bring it.
And by reward, I sort of meant punish. Please don't actually make an instructional dance video for women. I have returned to lucidity. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteLMAO! This was great, and I've also made a side note to never watch one your vlogs while drinking water because I will start to choke.
ReplyDeleteCarolina Valdez Miller directed me over here (actually I am in her living room and we just watched it) and HOLY HILARIOUS!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, was websitestalking you, and how awesome is Sabriel??
ReplyDeleteSmile still plastered all over my face. That was hilarious, and you have no fear. The chicken-wing two-step and Thriller slide are epic. Followed Carolina's link and am so glad I did, I'm gonna follow you.
ReplyDeleteWell, the 10 minutes of professional experience really showed! That was awesome - so much fun.
ReplyDeleteI popped over from Carol's blog & am now a follower :)

ReplyDeleteThis was absolutely hilarious - I can't wait to see what you do for 200!
I'm hooked, anyone this brave deserves to be followed :)
Sill makes me laugh. There's an award for you over on my blog.
ReplyDeleteLOL! I came over here from Susan Field's blog, and that was great! I'm still laughing over the single ladies exhibition.
ReplyDeleteThe motorboat booty wins by a landslide! :)
ReplyDeleteYou should come to my dance studio and teach a class or two. ;)
Karen, I don't know if your students are ready for the motorbooty. You need a license to operate this thing.
ReplyDeleteNot bad....not bad at all :)
ReplyDeleteI could tell despite the subterfuge you are actually a good dancer! Thanks for starting out my morning with a coffee-spewing laugh
ReplyDeleteBest. Video. EVER!
ReplyDeleteWow! That was ridiculously awesome. You made my Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteWhat a coincidence.. I've also been a professional dancer for 10 minutes... ;) Awesome video, you're hysterical!
ReplyDeleteThis is a perfect example of a vlog done right. Bravo on making me laugh! I only wish I could dance as well as you can. And may I say congratulations on getting your book published!
